Mangrove Restoration At Densu Delta
About The Project

The Development Action Association-DAA and Densu Oyster Pickers Association- DOPA through the Sustainable Fisheries Management Project- SFMP in 2017 and the Women Shellfishers and Food Security project in 2023-2025, all funded by the USAID, planted 3900 in 2017, 4500 in 2023, 8462 in 2024 and 3462 in 2025 all making 20508 mangrove covering an area of 55.87hectares.
The mangrove restoration activities has since its inception attracted visitors from far and near to the Densu delta.

A field tour to the Densu Delta by a regional tour participants in 2024 during the Women Shelfishers and Food Security exchange programme in Ghana led by University of Cape Coast (UCC) and Development Action Association (DAA)

A team of visitors from the USAID Washington Office led by Dan Hicks, visited DAA officie and the Densu Delta in March 2024 where the also planted some mangroves.
